Security Alert Near PM Modi Bengaluru Visit After Gelatin Sticks Found Close To Event Venue

Bengaluru: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on the outskirts of Bengaluru, at least two gelatins were found triggering a major security alert and an intensive police investigation. 

The explosives were found near an ashram which is approximately 3 kilometers close to Kagalipura where the Prime Minister was scheduled to arrive later in the day. 

As per the police statement, the suspicious materials were found during the security routine check ups conducted before the arrival of PM Modi. 

A police official said, ” On Sunday morning, before the PM’s arrival, during checking, two gelatine sticks were found on the side of a footpath nearly 3 kms away from the main venue where PM Modi was scheduled to arrive.”

Security agencies immediately cordoned off the area after the recovery, meanwhile bomb disposal and forensic teams were rushed to the spot for examination. 

Police have launched a detailed probe into the incident and are currently interrogating a suspect in connection with the case. Officials said intense questioning is underway to ascertain how the gelatin sticks reached the area and whether there was any longer conspiracy behind the recovery.
