Lufthansa Frankfurt-Hyderabad Flight Receives Bomb Threat Email, Security Alert Triggered

New Delhi: A Lufthansa flight travelling from Frankfurt to Hyderabad triggered a security scare after authorities received a bomb threat email concerning the aircraft. According to ANI, emergency security measures were immediately activated at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport following the alert.
Airport officials said the threat email claimed that an explosive device had been placed on Lufthansa flight and would be detonated before the aircraft reached Hyderabad. Following the warning, security agencies and airport authorities swiftly initiated emergency procedures.
According to an RGI Airport Police official, the threat email was received at around 6:30 pm. Following the alert, security personnel conducted extensive checks across the airport premises and flights, but nothing suspicious was found.
“We conducted a thorough check of the entire premises and flights, and nothing was found. We have registered a case and are investigating the matter,” the official informed.
In a separate development, adverse weather conditions disrupted operations at Hyderabad’s Shamshabad airport. Reports said strong winds forced two incoming flights to be diverted to alternate destinations. A Pune-Hyderabad flight was rerouted to Vijayawada, while an Emirates flight from Dubai was diverted to Bengaluru after unsuccessful landing attempts due to heavy winds.
