In a startling development in the Pune fort murder investigation, police have uncovered evidence of a telephone conversation between a young woman and her alleged lover just minutes before the fatal incident involving her fiancé.
Siya Goyal, 20, reportedly contacted Chetan Chaudhary, her co-accused, approximately 34 minutes prior to the alleged push that led to the death of her 25-year-old fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, at Lohagad fort on June 18. Authorities obtained this information through detailed analysis of call records and forensic examination of the mobile devices belonging to Goyal and Chaudhary.
Investigators consider this final call critical digital evidence pointing to a coordinated plot. During the conversation, Goyal is believed to have provided her exact location at a scenic viewpoint within the fort and confirmed the absence of other visitors in the area, according to sources familiar with the probe by Pune Rural Police.
The pair allegedly deleted extensive chat histories and voice notes spanning several months to conceal their communications. Cyber experts are currently working to retrieve deleted WhatsApp and Instagram messages, along with location data and IP address records from the time of the call, to strengthen the case.

Police allege that Goyal pushed Agarwal from the cliff because she wished to avoid proceeding with their planned November wedding. Chaudhary faces charges as a co-accused in the matter.
Further details from the inquiry reveal that the scheme took shape by the end of May. Goyal reportedly made an earlier attempt to push Agarwal off a cliff on June 14. On that occasion, he reportedly saved himself by clutching onto a bush. Goyal then explained the incident as an accidental push caused by a snake encounter.
For the June 18 visit, Chaudhary reportedly trailed the couple to the fort to prevent any chance of escape. Goyal’s brother informed police that she initially met Chaudhary at cricket matches and that their relationship deepened after reconnecting through a mutual acquaintance.
This case underscores the role of digital forensics in unraveling complex criminal conspiracies. Authorities aim to use the compiled evidence, including call details, location logs, and recovered communications, to support charges of premeditated murder under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita in court.
