Bank Holidays in June 2026: Complete List of Closures

As May draws to a close, customers planning banking transactions in June 2026 are advised to review the holiday schedule in advance to avoid inconvenience at branches. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays for the month, encompassing regular weekly offs along with several regional and cultural observances across various states.

Banks throughout the country will remain closed on all Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays, following the usual banking calendar. In addition to these standard closures, select states will observe holidays for important occasions including Muharram, Raja Sankranti, Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti, and Maharana Pratap Jayanti.

Although physical bank branches will be shut on the notified dates, digital banking channels will continue to function smoothly. Customers can access online banking, mobile applications, Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), and net banking services without any interruption during the holidays.

The RBI categorises these bank holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, real-time gross settlement holidays, and account closing-related observances. As some holidays vary by state and city, individuals are encouraged to verify the schedule relevant to their location before visiting a branch for financial transactions.
