Rajnath Singh And Sadhguru Honour Outstanding Indians With Bhavya Bharat Bhushan Awards At Isha Mahashivratri

Coimbatore: At the 33rd Isha Mahashivratri celebrations in Coimbatore on Sunday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev presented the inaugural Bhavya Bharat Bhushan Awards to distinguished individuals in recognition of their remarkable contributions to the nation. The event, which blended deep spiritual observance with national pride, drew thousands to the Isha Yoga Centre, with millions more participating virtually.
The Bhavya Bharat Bhushan Awards were introduced to honour citizens whose work has significantly impacted areas such as science and technology, culture, sports, community welfare and corporate leadership. Sadhguru described the initiative as a tribute to those whose vision and dedication help build a “Bhavya Bharat”, a great and thriving India driven by inspired and committed individuals.

Among the award recipients were eminent figures such as scientists Shri Nambi Narayan and Shri Kiran Kumar, recognised for their roles in advancing India’s scientific and technological stature. The ceremony celebrated excellence across multiple sectors, emphasising the importance of contributing to the nation’s progress.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, attending as chief guest, acknowledged the spiritual and cultural dimensions of Mahashivratri and the significance of recognising citizens whose achievements reflect national strength and resilience. His remarks highlighted the festival’s capacity to bring people together in devotion and collective reflection, reinforcing the ethos of service and unity.
The celebration also included traditional rituals, music, meditation sessions and other cultural programmes associated with the Mahashivratri vigil at the Isha Yoga Centre, which is known for attracting both national and international audiences each year.
