Indian Army Man Tragically Slips Into Narrow Valley While Searching For Pakistani Insurgents

Jammu and Kashmir: An Indian Army Officer met with an unfortunate accident in the mountains of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district while serving the nation in Operation Sherawali. Lieutenant Beereshwar Goswami slipped from a steep ridge and fell into a narrow valley on Saturday.

While leading the troops through the dense forests of the region, the officer lost his balance. The rescue happened with immediate effect, but the officer succumbed to his injuries. He was part of a search-and-destroy mission, Operation Sherawali, which aimed at hunting down Pakistani terrorists in India; the team reportedly was following a trail to three terrorists believed to reside in the forests. Having spent more than a fortnight in this Operation, the officers are practicing various techniques to complete the mission.

The White Knight Corps have offered a tribute to the late serving officer in an X post and acknowledged his sacrifice for the nation. The officer’s mortal remains have been brought to the Jammu Air Force Station this morning. The mission solely focuses on the highs of Rajouri district at Dorimaal, Gambhir Mughalan. Started in May, the expedition is progressing with the army officials extensively executing their search with heavy guerrillas deployed in parts of the dense forest, laying cordons, using drone technology, searching the bushes thoroughly, and deploying tracker dogs, etc. Intel points to a three-terrorist group dwelling in the jungle, including a top commander reportedly aliased as “Fauji”. However, though the hunt has been over two weeks, the officer’s sacrifice will be remembered in history. The Army said his selfless devotion to duty, indomitable spirit, and brave service to the nation will remain an enduring inspiration to all ranks, while the corps shared condolences with the family of the martyr and offered prayers for the late officer’s soul.

It also makes the people realise a sense of respect for the army officers who, despite the lack of proper accessibility to safety measures in such areas, confidently make efforts to eradicate the evils of the nation.
