National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval received the Lokmanya Tilak National Award from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday in Pune. Doval has been chosen for the esteemed prize in recognition of his noteworthy contribution to national security, according to the Tilak Smarak Trust.
In difficult areas like Mizoram, Sikkim, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir, Doval, 81, has managed important projects. Additionally, he held diplomatic positions at the Indian missions in London and Islamabad.
He has been India’s National Security Advisor for the longest. In addition to serving as India’s special representative for the border negotiations with China, Doval is recognized for having contributed significantly to the diplomatic efforts that ended the Doklam stalemate.
According to the Trust, the Lokmanya Tilak Award was first given to socialist politician S M Joshi in 1983.
Every year on August 1, the anniversary of the death of independence fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak, it is given to people who have significantly advanced and developed the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former prime ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh, and Indira Gandhi, former president Pranab Mukherjee, and seasoned politician Sharad Pawar are among the notable individuals who have received the award over the years.
During his visit to Pune, Shah also honored the renowned Marathi poet and social reformer Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe on the anniversary of his birth.
Shah was accompanied in the Sarasbaug area by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, and a number of local leaders and dignitaries who also presented flowers to Sathe’s statue.
Annabhau Sathe, a renowned folk poet, social reformer, and pioneer of Dalit writing in Maharashtra, was born on August 1, 1920.
