On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met with Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla after the government decided to examine the NEET paper leak in the Lok Sabha.
Officials claim that shortly after the administration informed the Lok Sabha that it was prepared to have a thorough discussion on the NEET paper leak problem, Mr. Pradhan met Mr. Birla in Parliament.
In order to determine the rules, date, and length of the discussion, the administration has encouraged Speaker Birla to call a meeting of all parties.
Mr. Birla asked Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju to speak as soon as the House reconvened at noon following an earlier adjournment, but Congressman K. C. Venugopal intervened to claim that the Opposition is also requesting Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.
In addition to calling for Mr. Pradhan’s resignation due to his handling of the scandal surrounding the purported exam irregularities, the opposition has been calling for a discussion on the NEET paper leak problem.
