Pune Lohagad Murder Probe Deepens: Siya Goyal’s Brother Questioned As Police Examine Cafe Meeting, Cricket LinkIn

Pune: The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has entered a crucial phase, with Pune Rural Police questioning Sahil Goyal, the brother of prime accused Siya Goyal, as investigators continue to piece together the events leading up to Ketan’s death at Lohagad Fort.

According to police, Sahil Goyal was questioned for nearly ten hours on Friday regarding his sister’s relationship with co accused Chetan Chaudhary and other aspects of the case. Investigators are examining whether Sahil and Chetan knew each other through cricket and whether that connection had any relevance to the alleged conspiracy. Police reportedly allowed Sahil to return home late in the evening after questioning and are expected to call him again for further investigation.

The probe has also focused on CCTV footage that police claim shows Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary meeting at a cafe in Pune hours before Ketan’s death. Investigators believe the meeting may have been used to discuss their plans, though the contents of any conversation remain part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are examining CCTV footage, call records and digital evidence to establish the sequence of events.

Ketan Agarwal died after falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort on June 18. Police initially received information suggesting the incident was an accident. However, after questioning witnesses, analysing technical evidence and reviewing digital records, investigators registered a murder case against Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, alleging that the two conspired to kill Ketan. Both accused are currently in police custody, and the investigation is continuing.

Police have also alleged that the accused remained in frequent contact in the months preceding the incident and are examining deleted chats, call records and other electronic evidence. Investigators have indicated that they will recreate the crime scene as part of the probe to verify the sequence of events and gather additional forensic evidence.

No court has yet determined the guilt or innocence of the accused. Pune Rural Police have stated that the investigation is ongoing, and further questioning of witnesses and family members is expected in the coming days as officials work to establish the complete facts surrounding the case.
