In a shocking case from Korea district in Chhattisgarh, a man has been arrested for allegedly subjecting his wife to severe physical and psychological abuse, including shaving her head and forcing her to drink urine. Videos documenting the assault, which occurred on June 14 in Pandopara village, later circulated on social media, prompting authorities to take stronger action.
The victim, a woman in her mid-30s, initially filed a complaint on June 15 claiming her husband, Jitendra Ghasiya, had assaulted her while intoxicated. Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita dealing with cruelty by a husband or his relatives, voluntarily causing hurt, obscene acts, and criminal intimidation.
Following the emergence of graphic videos that revealed the full extent of the alleged violence, investigators added a more serious charge related to administering a harmful or stupefying substance with intent to cause injury. Officials noted that the woman’s first complaint did not include all details of the incident.
According to the victim’s account, she and Ghasiya had been married for approximately 15 years and share four children, who are currently living with him. She stated that her husband had suspected her of infidelity, abandoned her about a year earlier, and that she had since been residing with an acquaintance. On the day of the incident, he reportedly arrived at her location and launched the attack.

She described how he tied her hands and legs, beat and abused her verbally, cut her hair with scissors before shaving her head with a blade, and forcibly poured urine into her mouth. He also allegedly doused her with a child’s urine and threatened to set her on fire. Videos from the episode reportedly capture him slapping and kicking her repeatedly, shaving her head, applying a black substance to her face and body, and leaving her clothes torn.
The case has drawn attention due to the disturbing visual evidence that surfaced online, highlighting the severity of domestic abuse in this instance. Law enforcement officials continue their investigation into the matter.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by many women in domestic settings and the critical role that public evidence, such as social media videos, can play in ensuring accountability. Authorities are expected to pursue a thorough probe to deliver justice.
