When Pappu Yadav was giving a news conference at his Delhi home on Sunday, a fight broke out. The independent MP said there was a plan to “assassinate” him. The incident comes after a significant controversy broke out when Yadav and other opposition MPs targeted the Center over the Ram Temple contribution theft case in a play they performed within the Parliament.
Yadav’s supporters claim that at the media conference, there was total commotion because a man allegedly attempted to attack the Purnea MP. He was allegedly holding a knife, but after a fight, the fans subdued him. The knife was later confiscated and the man turned over to the police.
The attacker has been identified as 34-year-old Sumit, who works in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, according to Delhi Police sources. However, Bulandshahr is his birthplace.
Happy, who was reportedly outside Yadav’s house in a car, has also been arrested by the police.
Yadav then claimed that he arrived at his Delhi home last night, but he claimed that the incident on Sunday was an attempt on his life. Yadav said he has been calling for security for a “long time,” taking aim at the Delhi Police.
“There was an attempt to kill me,” he said to the news outlet ANI. “Some ‘Baba’ said, ‘Kill him,’ while others said, ‘Burn him alive.'” I would have been done if no one had been present. I’ve been silent. I just wanted to know where the 200 kg of silver went, Champat Rai or Giri Ji. “Where did the gold end up?”
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been criticizing Yadav for the skit that took place inside the Parliament building. The Purnea MP claimed that the act was merely an effort to defend Sanatan, despite the saffron party’s accusations that he offended Hindus.
“These individuals also abstained from the Ram temple’s construction. Today, they are making jokes and ridiculing the religious symbols connected to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi,” BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh told news agency PTI earlier in the day. In the meantime, Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are the targets of a formal complaint filed in Varanasi regarding the farce. Awadhesh Prasad, Akhilesh Yadav, and Arvind Kejriwal have also been scheduled.
