Girls Outshine Boys in CBSE Class 12 Exams as Results Out

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the Class 12 board examination results, with students able to access their scores on the official website cbseresults.nic.in.

This year’s overall pass percentage stood at 88.39 per cent, reflecting a modest improvement from 87.98 per cent recorded in the previous year. Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj shared the details, highlighting continued strong performance trends among candidates.

Girls have once again outperformed boys, achieving a pass percentage of 91.64 per cent compared to 85.70 per cent for boys a difference of over five percentage points. Transgender candidates recorded a perfect 100 per cent pass rate, up from 50 per cent last year.

More than 1.15 lakh students scored above 90 per cent marks, while over 24,000 secured above 95 per cent. The board has chosen not to release a traditional merit list to discourage unhealthy competition, though it will issue merit certificates to top performers in individual subjects.

Regional performance varied notably. The Vijayawada region led with the highest pass percentage at 99.60 per cent. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas, and Central Tibetan Schools also posted impressive results. Among school categories, government-aided institutions performed strongly alongside private schools.

Students must secure at least 33 per cent in both theory and practical components to pass. Provisions for grace marks apply in borderline cases. Those who did not clear all subjects have been placed in the compartment category, with the total number seeing a slight decline compared to last year.

The results are available on multiple platforms including cbseresults.nic.in, the DigiLocker app, and UMANG to handle high traffic. Candidates can check their marks by entering roll number, school number, and admit card ID.

This announcement marks the culmination of examinations conducted earlier in the year. CBSE officials expressed satisfaction with the steady rise in performance metrics and the consistent edge shown by girl students. Detailed statistics and region-wise data have been made public alongside the results.
