Deadly Highway Crash In Bihar Leaves 13 Dead, Dozens Injured

Patna: At least 13 people lost their lives and 27 others sustained injuries following a devastating head-on collision between a speeding bus and a pickup vehicle in Bihar, according to a report by Free Press Journal. The accident occurred on a highway, where both vehicles were reportedly travelling at high speed before the impact.

As per Free Press Journal, the collision was so severe that both vehicles were extensively damaged, leading to multiple fatalities at the scene. Several passengers were trapped in the wreckage, prompting an immediate rescue response from local authorities and emergency services.

Police officials confirmed that the injured were quickly transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment. Some of them were reported to be in critical condition. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, though preliminary information suggests overspeeding may have played a role.

According to agency inputs cited by Free Press Journal, the pickup vehicle was carrying several passengers at the time of the incident, which contributed to the high number of casualties. Eyewitnesses described the crash as extremely violent, with debris scattered across the road.

Local administration teams reached the site soon after the incident to oversee rescue operations and manage traffic in the area. Efforts were also made to identify the victims and inform their families.
