New Delhi: Hours after the 37 day protest at Jantar Mantar came to an end, Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke shared an emotional morning video, thanking everyone who stood by the movement and making it clear that the fight is far from over.
Speaking directly to his supporters, Dipke said, “This is just the beginning. There is still a long way to go.” He thanked students, volunteers and people from across the country who backed the campaign, adding that for the first time in several weeks, he could finally “sleep peacefully” without constantly worrying about what would happen next.
Despite describing the recent developments as a major milestone, Dipke stressed that the movement would continue until its remaining demands are addressed. A day earlier, he had also warned that the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was only the “first wicket”, signalling that the campaign would not end with a single political development.
The video quickly gained traction on social media, where thousands of users shared clips and reacted to his message. Many supporters congratulated Dipke and the protestors, calling the outcome a victory for students and praising their determination throughout the month-long agitation.
Others, however, urged the movement to now focus on concrete reforms rather than celebrations, while some questioned whether the remaining demands could realistically be achieved.
With his latest video, Dipke has made one thing clear while the protest at Jantar Mantar may have ended, he believes the movement itself has only entered its next phase.
