Women Raid Liquor Den In Surat’s Palanpur Without Waiting For Police, Bootleggers Flee In Panic

Surat: In Surat’s Palanpur area, women have finally taken matters into their own hands against the liquor menace. Fed up with an illegal country liquor operation running in a residential area of Mahadev Faliyu, a group of women conducted their own raid. Provoked by the bootleggers’ defiant attitude, the women threw liquor pouches onto the street and shut down the illicit operation.

Women storm den with children in tow

According to available information, illegal sale of country liquor had been going on for a long time in Mahadev Faliyu, Palanpur, posing a serious threat to the safety of college-going girls and local women. When women went to demand the closure of the den, a bootlegger responded arrogantly, asking, “If liquor is sold here, what’s your problem? What does it matter to you?” This response snapped the women’s patience. Taking along even small children, the women stormed into the den and began destroying the liquor stock.

Scramble in the darkness of night

The women timed their raid when the den was crowded with customers. Seeing the women’s fierce response, anti-social elements and bootleggers who had gathered to drink liquor fled in panic. The women threw liquor pouches onto the street, venting their anger against the system’s inaction.

Locals stage angry protest against Pal police

As soon as news of the incident spread, a team from Pal police station rushed to the spot. However, the police were immediately confronted by angry residents. Locals accused the police of taking no action despite numerous complaints, forcing them to take this step themselves. Residents said it was suspicious that liquor was being openly sold in a residential area and police claimed to have no knowledge of it.

It is worth noting that this incident serves as a red flag for Surat Police. The women have sent a clear message that if police do not act in time, citizens will be forced to take the law into their own hands.
