
In a latest turn of events, a car has plunged into the Nabhoi canal at Gandhinagar. A woman who was in the car shouted for help as she was drowning, but eventually she died. It is being feared that all those who were present in the car have drowned. Upon learning about the incident, a team of the fire brigade rushed to the spot in order to undertake rescue operations.
Two bodies have been taken out from the canal by the fire brigade team. Operations to retrieve the car from the canal are also going on. Primary findings indicate that 5 people were present in the Kia Seltos car in total.
Meanwhile, the exact cause of the car plunging into the canal is yet to be known. On the other hand, a few eyewitnesses were present there at the time of the incident. An eyewitness said that the car was coming from the other side at a rough speed. He saw the car plunging into the canal. On the other side of the canal, a home-guard along with 3-4 people witnessed the incident. One of them took a rope and tried to hand it over to the woman, but unfortunately she could not take a hold it, and drowned to death.
Another eyewitness informed that he was on the other side of the canal on his bike when the incident took place. The woman shouted for help, but died eventually. Locals also tried to administer CPR on her, but she could not be saved. The police also reached the spot upon learning about the incident. The locals gathered at the spot of the incident.
The incident has stirred the area and people are in panic. Such incidents create chaos and also instill fear in citizens. It is important that the administration implements necessary steps to ensure road safety. Additionally, speed limits also need to be enforced with a stricter stance to prevent unforeseen incidents.
