A shocking incident has surfaced in Surat wherein a minor girl was raped by her uncle. This incident came into light when the girl got pregnant. Upon finding out about it, the girl’s mother has lodged a complaint at the Ichchapur police station. The police have registered a case under POCSO and started investigating the matter.
In the Hazira area of Surat, a 16 year old girl was raped by her own uncle. The entire incident was revealed when the girl experienced unbearable pain in her stomach and was taken to the hospital for treatment, where it was declared that she was six months pregnant.
As of now, the police have registered a case under the sections of POCSO and rape, and arrested the accused. Further investigations into the matter are being conducted.
Such threatening incidences occurring on a daily basis, which force the citizens to live in fear, raise questions about the safety of women and girls in the city.
