Surendranagar: A heartbreaking incident unfolded near Gautamgadh in Surendranagar district, where two young brothers lost their lives after drowning in the Bhogavo River. The victims have been identified as Kishorsinh Jadeja and Ajayrajsinh Parmar. According to reports, the boys entered the river to bathe but were unable to stay afloat, ultimately drowning before help could arrive.
Local authorities were alerted soon after the incident occurred, and fire brigade teams rushed to the spot. They immediately launched a rescue operation. After nearly two to three hours of searching, the bodies of both boys were recovered from the water.
The tragedy drew a large crowd of local residents to the riverbank, where scenes of shock and sorrow played out. The family members were devastated by the incident. The bodies were sent to the government hospital in Muli for postmortem examination.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the local population and serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of unsupervised swimming in natural water bodies. As temperatures rise across the state, many children and youth turn to rivers, lakes, and canals to cool off, often without realizing the risks involved.
Authorities have urged parents to be extra cautious and ensure children do not enter deep or fast-moving water bodies without supervision. While the monsoon has not yet arrived, water levels in rivers like the Bhogavo can still pose serious risks, especially to inexperienced swimmers.
