Tragedy In Daman: Two Young Girls Swept Away In Drainage, One Loses Life Amid Heavy Rainfall In Gujarat

Daman: Continuous heavy rainfall across Gujarat has led to yet another heartbreaking incident. In Daman’s Kevli Faliya area, two young girls, aged between 8 and 10, were swept away while playing near an overflowing drainage canal. Tragically, one of the girls drowned and lost her life, while the other was rescued in time by local residents and the fire department.

The incident occurred near a large drainage system that had overflowed due to relentless rain. According to eyewitnesses, the girls were playing close to the drainage when they suddenly slipped and were carried away by the strong current. Locals immediately raised an alarm and alerted emergency services. The fire brigade managed to pull one of the girls to safety, but the other girl got stuck in the middle of the drainage and drowned before help could reach her.

Police and emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving the report. Initial investigations confirm the ages of both girls to be between 8 and 10 years old. Authorities have launched further inquiries into the incident.

Gujarat has been experiencing severe weather over the past few days, with torrential rains causing rivers, drains, and ponds to overflow, leading to dangerous situations in several parts of the state.
