
Causing the on-the-spot deaths of 9 people on the Iskcon bridge by a horrific accident, Tathya Patel and his father have now surrendered in the court and filed an application seeking acquittal in the case.
The accident by Tathya Patel, that took place on the Iskcon bridge on the night of July 19,2023, resulted in the deaths of 9 people on the spot, while critically injuring 13 people. He had also been granted temporary bail in the past in this case.
Apparently, Tathya was driving his Jaguar car at high speed on the Iskcon bridge, running over and claiming the lives of those who came in the way. Tathya, along with his father Pragnesh Patel, is behind the bars.
The police had managed to collect concrete evidence against the father-son duo. But now, Tathya has applied for acquittal in this case in the Gujarat High Court. The court might hold a hearing in the coming days.
Apart from this, 8 cases including extortion, rape, and fraud have been registered against both Tathya Patel and his father Pragnesh Patel in Ahmedabad and several other cities.
As per sources, two complaints in Sola police station, and one complaint each in Shahpur police station, Ranip police station, Crime Branch, Mahila Crime police station, Dang police station, and Mehsana police station, have been filed against them.
