Anticipating Violence In Other Places Also, Police Is On Alert Mode

After the approval of the Waqf Amendment Bill 2025 in the Lok Sabha, it was finally passed in the Rajya Sabha as well. However, people are protesting against the Waqf Bill in Ahmedabad. The protesters expressed their displeasure against the Bill.

The police, in response to the protests, have taken a strict stance and detained more than 50 people. Though a tense atmosphere was seen during the protest, the police managed to keep the situation under control. Protests against the Waqf Bill are also taking place in Kolkata and Ranchi, where people gathered on the streets and raised slogans to withdraw the Bill.

On the other hand, in Ranchi, the minority community of Muslims staged strong protests against the amendments made in the Bill. They expressed their demands and opposition to the amendments by holding banners outside the Ekra Mosque after the Friday prayers. The protesters are calling the changes in the bill as an attack on their rights.

In Bihar, people from the Muslim community protested at the Raja Nagar Gausiya Mosque in Jamui. Thousands of people from the community were present in the demonstration. The demonstrators raised slogans against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Union Minister Chirag Paswan.

Anticipating similar situations, Uttar Pradesh police is on alert mode. Strict security arrangements have been made in the capital city Lucknow, along with Sambhal, Bahraich, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, and Noida and other sensitive districts of the state, taking into account the Friday prayers. Police personnel have been deployed in the sensitive areas of Lucknow due to the fear of protests and demonstrations against the Bill. Drones and CCTVs are also being used for monitoring.

In view of the fear of violence after the passing of the Waqf Bill in Parliament, Nagpur Police has issued an advisory stating that strict action will be taken against those who post videos about violent content on social media. UP Police is also monitoring social media and has called for strict action against those spreading rumors.

The police officers warned that action would be taken against those who try to disrupt law and order. In Lucknow, 61 hotspots have been identified and marked as sensitive zones. Security agencies had received inputs about possibilities of protests over the Waqf Bill in some parts of Lucknow, especially after the Friday prayers.
