One Rescued, Two Missing After Pilgrims Drown In Gomti River In Dwarka: Rescue Mission Underway

Dwarka: A religious pilgrimage turned tragic on Wednesday afternoon when three devotees from Gujarat’s Patan district were swept away while bathing in the Gomti River near the Dwarkadhish temple. One of the men was rescued in time, while a frantic search is underway for the remaining two.
According to officials, the three individuals had traveled to the city of Dwarka to visit the temple. During their visit, they entered the Gomti River for a ritual bath. Unfortunately, strong currents and rising water levels caught them off guard. Locals who witnessed the incident quickly alerted rescue services. Teams from the municipal fire brigade and local divers rushed to the scene. One man was successfully pulled from the river and immediately taken to a government hospital by 108 ambulance services. His condition remains stable.
The other two, identified as 27-year-old Shailesh Goswami and his 16-year-old nephew Dhrumil Goswami, are still missing. Both are residents of the Patan district. Rescue efforts continue as authorities scour the riverbanks and nearby waters.
Officials suspect that elevated water levels, possibly influenced by tidal inflow from the nearby Arabian Sea may have contributed to the incident. Emergency teams remain on-site, and further updates are expected as the search progresses.
