Junagadh Violence: Youth Brutally Attacked with Rods and Pipes; Folk Artist Rajbha Gadhvi’s Relatives Accused

Junagadh: Law and order concerns have once again come to the forefront in Gujarat’s Junagadh city as back-to-back violent incidents have left residents alarmed. A day after a youth was killed in a clash over bursting firecrackers, another case of brutal assault was reported late Tuesday night in the Madhuram area.

According to police sources, a young man named Mihirdan Langadiya was attacked by a group of more than seven men using iron rods and pipes near a local paan shop. The assailants allegedly include relatives of noted Gujarati folk artist Rajbha Gadhvi. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.

Mihirdan sustained multiple fractures in both legs and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. He remains under observation.

Victim’s Allegations Against the Attackers

Recounting the attack, Mihirdan claimed that on Tuesday night, one Abhay Gadhvi (also known as Abhaydan Suru) reportedly under the influence of alcohol abused him and threatened to kill him. During that altercation, another man, Mahesh Gadhvi, allegedly brandished a revolver said to belong to folk artist Rajbha Gadhvi.

The victim further alleged that on Wednesday afternoon, Mahesh returned with more than seven people including Lakhna Gadhvi (Rajbha Gadhvi’s driver), Punjo Mer, Bharat Odedra, and Kano Gadhvi arriving in a Fortuner and a Thar SUV. The group allegedly attacked him with pipes and rods, breaking his legs and leaving him severely injured. Before fleeing, they reportedly threatened to kill him.

Mihirdan has also questioned how Mahesh gained access to Rajbha Gadhvi’s revolver, demanding an investigation into whether he had any legal right to possess it.

Public Outrage and Police Accountability

This attack follows closely after another killing in the same locality involving the son of a retired PSI, raising serious questions about Junagadh police’s effectiveness and control over rising street violence. Locals have expressed concern over the increasing lawlessness in the area, while the injured youth has appealed for justice and immediate police action against the accused.
