Gujarat Weather Update: Light to Moderate Rain Expected Across Multiple Districts

Gujarat is set to experience light to moderate rainfall over the next three days, with forecasts indicating intermittent showers and thunderstorms across parts of Saurashtra, South, and North Gujarat. This expected weather change may offer a brief respite from the rising heat in early April.
A yellow alert has been issued by the weather department for lightning in select areas of Saurashtra and South Gujarat, with rain anticipated from March 31 to April 2, 2025. Recent observations noted a slight drop—about 1°C—in the maximum temperatures of some districts within the past 24 hours. However, a modest increase of 1-2°C is predicted over the following 48 hours, keeping temperatures within the normal range. In Ahmedabad, forecasts suggest a high of around 37°C and a low of approximately 19°C.
AK Das, Director of the Meteorological Department, stated that a weather system is expected to activate over Gujarat starting March 31, which will usher in the rainfall until April 2. This system is anticipated to draw moisture from the sea inland, triggering light to moderate showers in regions including Saurashtra, the coastal districts, South Gujarat, as well as parts of East and North Gujarat, along with the possibility of thunderstorms.
