Ahmedabad: In a significant development, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested four individuals allegedly connected to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. According to reports, three of the suspects are residents of Gujarat, while the fourth is from another state. Investigations suggest that all four had established links with the Al-Qaeda terror model and were actively promoting its ideology through social media and other suspicious apps. They are believed to have been involved in spreading extremist content and ideas across digital platforms.
Authorities revealed that the suspects were in contact with Al-Qaeda operatives through various online channels and were part of certain groups that propagated radical ideologies. The ATS surveillance team had been monitoring their online activity and found them regularly discussing movements and developments within Gujarat, raising serious concerns about their intentions.
During the operation, Gujarat ATS also uncovered several social media handles and chat records tied to the suspects. Some of the platforms used included auto-delete messaging apps, which the accused allegedly utilized to avoid detection. Currently, all four are in ATS custody and are being interrogated for further information about their network, contacts, and plans. Investigations are ongoing to uncover any broader links and assess potential threats.
