Ahmedabad: The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is all set to host its fourth IPL match of the season today, April 19. The much-anticipated clash between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals promises excitement for fans, but it also comes with a challenge, intense heat. The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert, with temperatures expected to soar above 40 degrees Celsius.
To ensure spectator comfort during the 3:30 PM match, scheduled right in the peak afternoon heat, the administration has made special arrangements. The host franchise has announced it will provide mist fans, sunscreen, and sun visors for fans seated in sun-facing stands. Free drinking water, ORS, and medical facilities will also be available throughout the venue.
In light of the heatwave, 108 Emergency Service has deployed around seven ambulances and 30 staff members to assist anyone in need. Spectators showing signs of heatstroke will receive immediate primary care on-site. If necessary, they will be shifted to SMS Hospital or a nearby private facility for further treatment. Additionally, a small four-bed hospital has been set up inside the stadium to handle minor medical emergencies.
