Ever since the verbal war between Ganesh Jadeja and Patidar leader Alpesh Kathiriya took place on Sunday (April 27), social and political tensions have started erupting in Gondal. The convoy of Patidar leaders including Alpesh Kathiriya, Jigisha Patel, and Dharmik Malaviya had to face protests by the supporters of Ganesh Jadeja. A series of chaotic events unfolded as the mob started attacking the convoy by breaking the glass of the cars, along with stone-pelting, near Ashapura Chowkdi. Both the parties have put allegations and filed complaints against each other at the B Division police station.
Complaints have been registered under sections including attempting to run over the supporters of Ganesh Jadeja, and rioting, among others. On the other hand, complaints regarding the vandalising of cars that were a part of Kathiriya’s convoy have also been filed. Moreover, a complaint has also been filed against the driver of the Brezza car, who allegedly tried to run over the supporters of Ganesh Jadeja.

It was claimed that strict security arrangements were made for the meeting of the Patidar leaders Alpesh Kathiriya and Jigisha Patel, after Ganesh Jadeja’s challenge at the Janakrosh Sabha which was held at Sultanpur. Many people were protesting against Alpesh. His car was attacked after he left the Ashapura temple. The windows of his car were broken despite tight security arrangements.
After the attack, Alpesh Kathiriya said that as long as they are in Gondal, protests will keep taking place. He compared Gondal to Mirzapur and added that no one should come to Gondal. If anyone comes, then they are attacked, their people, cars, and families are also damaged; the law and order situation in Gondal is being manipulated at the behest of some individuals.
