Rajkot: Rameshchandra Fefar, a former government officer, has died by suicide in Rajkot. Fefar, who had publicly claimed to be the tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu, Kalki, was found dead at his residence.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night. Police teams rushed to the spot after being notified. Preliminary investigations suggest that loneliness was a contributing factor behind the extreme step.
Fefar, a retired executive engineer from the irrigation department, was often in the spotlight for his controversial statements. He repeatedly made assertions that he was the divine incarnation, Kalki.
The deceased had been living alone for many years, as his wife and son reside abroad. The exact reason for his suicide is still under investigation, and police inquiries are ongoing.
