A significant development has emerged in the case involving folk artist Devayat Khavad. After five months of hostility, Devayat Khavad and Dhruvarajsinh Chauhan of Sanathal have reached a reconciliation. Both individuals exchanged sweets with each other, symbolically ending their dispute.
The conflict between the two began on February 20, 2025, when tensions erupted during an event in Dayara after Devayat Khavad failed to attend. The incident escalated when windows of Khavad’s car were smashed. Subsequently, on August 12, Dhruvarajsinh of Sanathal was attacked in Gir, which triggered legal proceedings. However, on Saturday (December 28), both parties resolved their differences by exchanging sweets.
Understanding the complete case
On August 12, 2025, Dhruvarajsinh Chauhan, a resident of Sanathal in Ahmedabad, was attacked by folk artist Devayat Khavad and 15 others in Chitrod village of Talala. Following this assault, police registered five offenses against Khavad, including attempted murder, and arrested him on August 17.
Subsequently, Devayat Khavad and his associates were released from jail in the Talala police case. The Veraval court granted bail to the accused. However, after the First Class Judicial Magistrate approved Khavad’s bail, police filed a revision petition in the Gir Somnath District and Sessions Court seeking cancellation of the bail.

The complainant had argued for bail cancellation on grounds that Devayat Khavad violated bail conditions and intimidated witnesses. The court accepted this plea and revoked Khavad’s bail, ordering him to surrender before police within 30 days.
However, the High Court intervened in this matter and extended the surrender deadline for Devayat Khavad by an additional month.
