Flood Alert Issued for 26 Villages in Gujarat’s Dholka and Daskroi Talukas

Ahmedabad – Authorities have issued a flood warning for 26 villages along the banks of rivers in Dholka and Daskroi talukas in Ahmedabad district, as reported by Gujarat Samachar. The alert comes in response to heavy rainfall and rising water levels, prompting local officials to take preventive measures to ensure resident safety.
In Dholka taluka, villages such as Badarkha and surrounding areas face heightened risks due to their proximity to overflowing rivers. Similarly, in Daskroi taluka, villages like Gamdi are on high alert as water levels continue to climb. The district administration has deployed teams to monitor the situation closely, with emergency response units prepared to assist.

According to Gujarat Samachar, the Flood Warning Cell in Nadiad has flagged the Panam Dam, which is nearing 80% capacity at 412.23 feet, just shy of its full reservoir level of 418 feet. This has raised concerns for villages downstream, particularly in Borsad and Anklav talukas, where 26 villages, including Gajna, Sarol, and Kankapura, have been placed on alert.
Residents in low-lying areas are being advised to relocate to safer locations, with local authorities coordinating efforts to minimize risks. The state has also issued a yellow alert for multiple districts, including Ahmedabad, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms until August 1.
