Five Rounds Of Firing Between Two Groups Of Same Community In Dahod In Broad Daylight, Heavy Police Deployment In Kasba Area

Ahmedabad: Panic gripped the densely populated and sensitive Kasba Patrichowk area of Dahod town after a shooting incident took place in broad daylight. A meeting had been called between two groups to resolve an old dispute, but the talks went awry and shots were fired from a gun, leaving two people bleeding and injured. Following the incident, shops in the surrounding market areas shut down and strict police bandobast was put in place.

According to available information, a meeting was organised near Kasaiwada in the Kasba area of Dahod between two Muslim groups to settle an old quarrel. However, during the discussion the matter escalated, and some agitated individuals pulled out weapons and fired five rounds.

Soon after the incident, Dahod A-Division police, DYSP J.P. Bhandari, and teams from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) and Special Operations Group (SOG) rushed to the spot. Police cordoned off the firing site and began the process of collecting forensic evidence. To prevent any further untoward incident, a tight police deployment was arranged in the locality.

As per initial reports, two persons sustained bullet injuries in the firing and were seriously wounded. Both injured were immediately shifted to a private hospital in Dahod for treatment. The broad daylight shooting triggered fear and anxiety among local residents. Police sealed off the entire area and strengthened bandobast to bring the situation under control. Senior officers reached the scene, conducted a spot panchnama and initiated the process of gathering evidence.
