Dead Body Found in Mercedes Parked for 6 Months Near LJ College in Ahmedabad; Trail Points to Surat Diamond Trader

Ahmedabad: A foul smell coming from a parked Mercedes car near LJ College in Sarkhej, Ahmedabad, led locals to alert the police and what officers found inside set off a full investigation. The car had been sitting in the same spot for roughly six months. Inside was a decomposed body, believed to be that of a man around 40 years old.
The Sarkhej police arrived after residents reported the odour. Based on the state of decomposition, investigators estimate the person had been dead for approximately two days before being discovered. The body has been sent for post-mortem. A Forensic Science Laboratory team has also joined the investigation. Identity of the deceased has not been confirmed yet.
The vehicle’s ownership turned out to be a tangled story. Initial inquiries pointed to a garage owner, but digging deeper changed the picture. A media investigation traced the car’s registration number and found it was originally registered to a diamond trader from Katargam, Surat. When reached, the trader said he had sold the Mercedes to someone named Kalubhai Gariyadhar two to three years ago. The registration, however, still shows his name raising questions about whether the transfer was ever formally completed.
