Ahmedabad: The results of the Bihar Assembly elections have begun to emerge, with trends showing the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) taking a clear lead. Following the coalition’s strong performance, supporters of the Janata Dal (United) celebrated outside the party office in Patna.
Reacting to the developments, Union Minister C.R. Patil issued an important statement. Speaking to the media in Surat, he said the people of Bihar had placed their trust in development. He added that despite the massive victory, the NDA would not hold grand celebrations.
NDA Will Not Celebrate the Victory
Patil further said that the results reflected the public’s rejection of “jungle raj.” According to him, the voters supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, and endorsed the development work carried out in the state from stadiums to highways. “This mandate is the outcome of visible progress in Bihar,” he said.

However, he emphasised that the victory festivities would not take place in view of the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, in which more than nine people were killed. Patil described the incident as extremely tragic.
Nitish Kumar Returns to Power
Nitish Kumar, who has been in office for two decades, has once again been handed the mandate. Despite talk of anti-incumbency, the results reveal a pro-incumbency wave. Since 2005, Nitish Kumar’s image as “Sushasan Babu” appears to have remained intact, as indicated by the electoral outcome.
Although he was recently criticised and labelled “Palatu Ram” by some sections, Kumar had publicly apologised, stating during an event with the Prime Minister, “I made mistakes twice, and now I am not going anywhere. I will remain with you.”
NDA Marches Toward Victory in Bihar
Counting began early this morning, and by 1 p.m., the political picture in Bihar had become clear. The magic of Nitish Kumar worked once again, with the NDA heading firmly toward victory. From the initial trends, the NDA maintained its lead.

As Nitish Kumar surged ahead, the prospects of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav diminished. At the time of reporting, the BJP was leading in 88 seats, JD(U) in 79, RJD in 31, LJP in 21, HAM in one, and BSP in one seat. The JD(U) delivered an impressive performance in the polls.
