Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad’s iconic Atal Bridge, built over the Sabarmati River, has firmly established itself as one of the city’s premier tourist attractions, drawing more than 77 lakh visitors since its inauguration just over three years ago.
According to official data released by the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL), a total of 77,71,269 people have visited the landmark bridge between August 31, 2022, and October 2025. This impressive footfall has generated over ₹27.70 crore in revenue for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

A breakdown of the visitor numbers and revenue highlights the bridge’s sustained popularity:
- In its initial operational period from August 31, 2022, to March 2023, the bridge attracted 21.62 lakh visitors, earning ₹6.44 crore.
- Between April 2023 and March 2024, visitor numbers grew to 26.89 lakh, contributing ₹8.24 crore to the city’s revenue.
- The following fiscal year, from April 2024 to March 2025, saw 20.67 lakh visitors and generated ₹8.19 crore.
The trend has continued into the current financial year. In the first six months alone (April to October 2025), the Atal Bridge has already welcomed 8.51 lakh visitors, adding another ₹4.82 crore to the AMC’s earnings.
The SRFDCL, a special purpose vehicle of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, is responsible for the construction and ongoing maintenance of the bridge.
