AMTS Launches Dedicated WhatsApp Numbers For Commuters To Lodge Complaints

Ahmedabad: In a move to improve commuter services, the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has launched dedicated WhatsApp helplines for passengers to lodge complaints and report grievances instantly. Commuters can now share photos or videos related to issues directly via WhatsApp at +91 85111 71941 and +91 85111 65179.

The initiative comes amid increasing complaints of overspeeding, traffic rule violations, driver misbehavior, and use of mobile phones while driving. Several such incidents have recently surfaced on social media, prompting the transport body to offer a quicker, more accessible grievance redressal system.

Passengers can also report problems like bus unavailability, lack of cleanliness, or service disruptions through the new helplines. AMTS officials stated that all complaints would be promptly investigated, and strict action would be taken against drivers or contractors found guilty.

With over one lakh passengers relying on AMTS buses daily, authorities aim to use the new complaint system to boost service standards and ensure safer travel. Earlier, complaints could only be registered through telephone calls, AMTS Committee Chairman Dharamsinh Desai said.
