A 25-year-old woman police constable from Ahmedabad’s Shahibaug headquarters was found dead without clothes at Pathyapustak Apartment in Sector 24, Gandhinagar, prompting a high-level probe on suspicion of murder. According to initial findings, injury marks were visible on the body, and forensic teams have been called in to assist the investigation.
As per information available, the constable, identified as Rinkal Vanzara, returned home around 9:30 pm on September 29, 2025, on her Activa scooter. Later at night, her brother and sister-in-law tried calling her; when she did not respond, they alerted a neighbour. After the door was opened, she was found lying unconscious and unclothed inside the house.
Police reached the spot soon after being informed, with the SP and multiple teams initiating a detailed inquiry. Statements from neighbours have been recorded, the inquest has been conducted, and the body has been sent for post-mortem. Forensic science experts are examining the scene, and investigators are pursuing the murder angle based on the injury marks.
The incident has created shock within the police fraternity as well. Officials said the case will be investigated thoroughly, with further action based on the post-mortem report and forensic analysis.
