19 Year Old Model Dies By Suicide In Surat, Police Launch Probe

Surat: A 19-year-old model allegedly died by suicide in Surat’s Saroli area on Friday, marking yet another case of suicide from the district. The deceased, identified as Sukhpreet Lakhwindersingh Kaur, was a native of Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. She had recently arrived in Surat to pursue work in the modeling industry.

According to police sources, Sukhpreet had been living with three of her friends, who are also models, at Sarathi Residency in Kumbharia village, Saroli. She had moved to the city just four to five days ago for modeling assignments.

The incident came to light when one of her friends returned home and discovered Sukhpreet hanging from a ceiling fan in her bedroom, using a dupatta. Authorities were immediately alerted, and a police team from Saroli reached the spot to initiate a preliminary investigation. Her body was later sent to SMIMER Hospital for a postmortem examination.

As of now, the reasons behind Sukhpreet’s alleged suicide remain unclear. Police have started a detailed probe to understand the circumstances that led to her death. Investigators are questioning her friends and examining her belongings to gather more information.
