For over three decades in Bollywood, the superstar has strictly followed a ” no – kiss policy ” in his films. Salman has often shared that he prefers making family entertainers and wants his movies to remain comfortable for audiences of every age group.
Interestingly, Tamannaah Bhatia also stayed away from kissing and intimate scenes for most of her career. Despite working extensively in both Bollywood and South cinema for nearly 18 years, the actress maintained a clear boundary on screen. However, Tamannaah surprised audiences when she decided to step out of that image with projects like Lust Stories 2 and Jee Karda. Later, she explained that the decision came from a creative space and was necessary for the authenticity of the characters she portrayed.
Salman and Tamannaah may have taken different routes, but both stayed true to their personal comfort and professional choices — something that continues to shape conversations around on-screen romance in Bollywood.
Over the years, several other actors have also reportedly followed a no-kiss or limited-intimacy policy in films. Ajay Devgn has largely avoided intimate scenes throughout his career, while Asin was known for maintaining similar boundaries during her time in the industry. Shilpa Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha have also spoken about being selective when it comes to intimate scenes on screen.
At the same time, Bollywood’s storytelling has evolved with changing audience preferences and OTT platforms bringing more realistic narratives. Some actors continue to maintain strict personal rules, while others are open to changing with the demands of a role. In the end, it all comes down to individual choice, comfort, and the kind of stories they want to tell on screen.
