Watch Video : Nana Patekar’s Final Video Surfaces, Actor Seen Playing Shamel At Goa Event

Panji : Veteran actor Nana Patekar’s last public appearance in Goa came just four days before his death, when he joined local artists in a traditional musical performance and dance. At the event, he also spoke about his enduring love for theatre and made a poignant remark about mortality, saying he did not know whether he would be there the next day.

Visuals from the event show him playing the traditional shamel, a musical instrument, and participating in the dekhni dance, a local art form. Patekar recalled his experience in a state-level play competition and how the recognition he received at the time gave him encouragement and a sense of direction. He spoke about his continued attachment to the stage, saying, “Now, I don’t want to do anything else. Let’s keep doing this only.”

Patekar also reflected on life and whether one gets the opportunity to accomplish what they want. “We all have to go someday. I don’t know whether I will be here tomorrow. That time comes in the life of everyone,” he said. He then reflected on whether he had been able to do what he wanted to do and whether he had made the effort before that time came. The actor was found unconscious at his apartment and was taken to a private hospital.

A friend of Patekar told doctors that the actor had messaged him around 3.30 am saying he was not feeling well. The friend saw the message around 4 am and rushed to the actor’s residence, where Patekar was living with a caretaker. Patekar’s body was later sent to Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim for a postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of death. A medico-legal case has also been registered.
