Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Visit Ayodhya’s Hanuman Garhi Temple for Blessings

Ayodhya: Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli and his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, visited the revered Shree Hanuman Garhi Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday to offer prayers. The couple, accompanied by tight security, was seen engaging in worship at the historic temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman.
Dressed in traditional attire, Kohli wore a cream-colored kurta, while Sharma opted for a light purple suit, blending simplicity with reverence during their visit. The temple priests adorned the couple with garlands and shawls, and a priest applied a ceremonial teeka on Sharma’s forehead, marking their participation in the sacred rituals. The visit drew significant attention, with crowds gathering to catch a glimpse of the celebrity duo, often referred to as “Virushka.”
This spiritual journey follows their recent visit to Vrindavan, where they sought blessings from spiritual leader Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj, accompanied by their children, Vamika and Akaay. The Ayodhya visit comes shortly after Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket, a decision he shared through an emotional message reflecting on his 14-year career in the format. In his statement, Kohli expressed gratitude for the lessons and experiences gained, noting the personal significance of playing in whites.
The couple’s visit to Ayodhya also included a stop at the Ram Mandir highlighting their continued engagement with spiritual and cultural practices. Despite their high-profile status, Kohli and Sharma maintained a composed demeanor, focusing on their prayers amid the public excitement.
On the professional front, Sharma is preparing for her return to cinema with Chakda ‘Xpress, a biopic on cricketer Jhulan Goswami, marking her first film role since 2018’s Zero. Meanwhile, Kohli remains active in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, balancing his professional commitments with this spiritual outing.
