The makers of ‘The Kerala Story 2 -Goes Beyond’ have released the official trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to the 2023 hit, revealing a narrative that spans multiple Indian states and promises to delve deeper into contentious social themes.
Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the Sunshine Pictures banner, the trailer opens with a stark message suggesting that India could become an Islamic state under Sharia law within the next 25 years, a provocative statement that frames the film’s central concerns.
The preview interweaves three separate storylines focused on young Hindu women who reportedly face coercion into religious conversion after forming relationships with Muslim men. In one thread set in Rajasthan, a family arrives at a police station to file a POCSO complaint, claiming their 16-year-old daughter was forced to change her faith. Another sequence set in Madhya Pradesh shows a woman allegedly duped into marriage and compelled to convert. The third narrative takes place in Kerala, where a woman refuses to embrace a suitor’s religion, prompting escalating conflict.
The trailer also depicts emotionally charged scenes in which one of the women is apparently forced to eat beef and held against her will, while all three girls and their families struggle with the aftermath of their experiences. Sharing the teaser on social media, the film’s creators wrote, “They targeted our daughters. They broke their trust. They stole their futures. This time, we do not stay silent. The story goes beyond.”
Starring Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia and Aishwarya Ojha, the sequel expands its scope beyond the Kerala-focused storyline of the original. It is scheduled to be released in cinemas on February 27, 2026.
