Kapil Sharma Returns with Season 5; Ajay Devgn Opens The Great Indian Kapil Show

Kapil Sharma is back with a fresh dose of comedy as The Great Indian Kapil Show returns for its fifth season on Netflix. The highly anticipated new season premiered on September 26, 2026, at 8 PM, kicking off with Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and the cast of the upcoming thriller Drishyam: The Conclusion.

After a six-month break, Sharma reunites with his popular comedy ensemble Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh, and Navjot Singh Sidhu. Netflix has billed the season as “Hasi Ka Tyohaar” (Festival of Laughter), perfectly timed with the festive period. New episodes will drop every Saturday at 8 PM exclusively on the streaming platform.

The season opener features Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Jaideep Ahlawat, and director Abhishek Pathak. The guests joined Kapil to promote Drishyam: The Conclusion, the final instalment of the popular franchise in which Devgn reprises his role as Vijay Salgaonkar. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on October 2, 2026.

Promotional clips and early reports from the episode highlight the usual mix of candid conversations, playful roasting, and chaotic banter that fans love. Moments already generating buzz include Kapil’s Goa related jokes and Devgn’s sharp comebacks, including a witty reference involving his wife Kajol and the Drishyam series.

Speaking about the return, Kapil Sharma said the team keeps coming back because they realise they are “not done yet” with the fun. Netflix has positioned the season as bigger, crazier, and more unpredictable, promising a blend of celebrity guests, sketches, and festive energy across Diwali, Christmas, and beyond.

With its proven appeal as a family entertainer that turns Saturdays into “Funnyvaar,” The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5 is set to deliver non-stop laughter this festive season. Fans can stream the new episodes only on Netflix.
