Sonu Sood Offers Support To Rajpal Yadav As Actor Begins Jail Term Over ₹9 Crore Debt

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has publicly extended his support to fellow performer Rajpal Yadav after the latter began serving a jail sentence in Tihar Central Jail related to a long‑running ₹9 crore debt and cheque bounce case, according to multiple reports. The offer comes amid widespread attention around Yadav’s financial challenges and legal troubles.

Yadav, known for his comic roles in Hindi cinema, surrendered to authorities early this week after repeatedly failing to settle the dues linked to a bounced cheque. Prior to surrendering, he made an emotional statement acknowledging his lack of funds and the absence of anyone to help him resolve the debt, highlighting the severity of his situation.

In response, Sood took to social platforms to not only offer moral support but also propose a professional opportunity. He announced that Yadav would be cast in one of his upcoming films and would receive a signing amount to assist him financially. Sood clarified that this gesture is not charity, but rather a dignified way to help a colleague in distress while reminding the industry to stand together in difficult times.

Sood’s message appealed to other filmmakers and producers to rally around Yadav, stressing that supporting one another reflects the true spirit of the film community. The actor’s offer has been described as a significant show of solidarity during a challenging chapter in Yadav’s life and career.

The legal case against Yadav stems from a loan dispute linked to his film career and has seen setbacks over several years, with various efforts made to negotiate repayment plans. His surrender to Tihar Jail marks a significant development in that saga.
