Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja Reveal Their Son’s Name

A Sacred Naming Ceremony
Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja recently hosted a heartfelt namkaran (naming) ceremony for their second son, Rudralokh Kapoor Ahuja. The couple, who welcomed the baby boy on March 29, 2026, officially introduced his name to the world on May 9 through a beautiful Instagram post, coinciding with the traditional ritual.
Spiritual Roots of the Name
The name Rudralokh carries deep Vedic significance. Born on the auspicious day of Ekadashi under Lord Vishnu’s grace, the couple described their son’s arrival as a “karmic alignment” and “divine pairing” with elder brother Vayu.
“In the Vedas, Rudra is the mightiest of the mighty — the divine force behind storms, breath, healing, and renewal. He is deeply connected to Vayu, the prana that moves through all beings,” they shared. While Vayu represents preservation, Rudra symbolises transformation, creating a perfect balance of strength and compassion. The family affectionately calls him Rudra.

The ceremony reflected the family’s strong connection to Indian traditions and spirituality, blending intimacy with cultural richness.
Celebrity Wishes and Family Joy
The announcement received warm wishes from celebrity friends including Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Arjun Kapoor. For Sonam and Anand, who married in 2018 and became parents to Vayu in 2022, Rudralokh’s arrival has brought their family complete joy.
As they step into this new chapter, the couple continues to inspire fans with their thoughtful approach to parenthood rooted in love, faith, and tradition. The namkaran ceremony stands as a beautiful reminder of the timeless value of family bonds and cultural heritage.
