Mumbai : Actor Salman Khan and Nayanthara are reportedly teaming up for an upcoming action thriller directed by Vamshi Paidipally, and the film may be titled The Messengers. While the makers are yet to make an official announcement, multiple media reports suggest that the project is being developed as a spy thriller with an intense action backdrop.
According to reports, the film recently completed its first shooting schedule in Mumbai, with the next leg expected to take place in Manali. The project has already generated considerable buzz as it marks the first on-screen collaboration between Salman Khan and Nayanthara.
The film is reportedly designed differently from Salman Khan’s popular Tiger franchise, with sources indicating that the narrative will have a darker and more grounded tone. The makers, however, have not officially revealed plot details or confirmed the final title yet.
Actor Rajpal Yadav is also said to play an important role in the film. Reports claim that unlike his usual comic performances, he will be seen in a layered character with emotional and grey shades.
There is also speculation surrounding the film’s antagonist. Reports suggest that actors Akshaye Khanna and Fahadh Faasil are being considered for the negative role, although no official confirmation has been issued so far.
The untitled project is currently scheduled for an Eid 2027 theatrical release. If released as planned, the film could face competition from Spirit starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri, which is also expected to arrive around the same period.
