Bollywood superstar Salman Khan dropped a bombshell about his tightly regimented lifestyle during a candid session at the Red Sea Film Festival, confessing that he hasn’t stepped out for a dinner in 25 years. The actor, known for his blockbuster hits and larger-than-life persona, attributed this self-imposed isolation to his relentless work ethic, distilling his daily existence down to a simple loop: home to shoot locations, airports, hotels, or events—and back again.
The revelation came on Thursday amid Khan’s participation in a discussion at the prestigious Saudi Arabian event, where he opened up about his personal and professional world. Clips from the session quickly surfaced across social media, capturing the 59-year-old star’s introspective mood. Khan, ever the storyteller, wove in poignant reflections on mortality and camaraderie, noting the toll fame has taken on his inner circle.
“Most of my life I’ve always been around my family and friends, jismein se kafi nikal li hain aur bas bhi 4-5 hi hain jo bahut phele se hain mere saath,” he shared, explaining that he’s lost many close companions over the years, leaving him with just four or five steadfast allies from his early days. Undeterred by the solitude, Khan doubled down on his routine’s rigidity: “25-26 saal hogaye hain ke main kahin bahar dinner pe nahi gaya hun. Shooting se ghar, ghar se shooting, ghar se airport, airport se hotel aur hotel se yahan. That’s it. This is my life.”

Far from lamenting the sacrifice, Khan expressed zero regrets, framing it as a deliberate trade-off for the adoration he receives. “And I don’t mind it… Ya toh yeh chaiyeh ke aap ghumo phiro aur yeh sab na ho, that is something that I don’t want. Itni izzat dete hai aur pyaar dete hain.. Ussi ke liye mehnat karta hun… Beech beech mein thodha complacent ho jaata hun.. But usko bhi enjoy karta hun kyeh sochke ke aa gaye kya aane wala hai.” In essence, he prefers the grind over aimless leisure, fueled by fans’ respect and love that keep him motivated. He even admitted to occasional complacency but savors it as fuel for what’s ahead.
This appearance marked Khan’s second high-profile moment at the Red Sea Film Festival. The previous evening, he graced the Golden Globes gala dinner, rubbing shoulders with global luminaries like Idris Elba and Edgar Ramírez. Festival organizers shared striking photos on their official Instagram, showcasing Khan in sharp form amid the star-studded gathering, which also drew other industry heavyweights.
On the professional front, Khan’s recent silver-screen outing in Sikandar underwhelmed audiences, but he bounced back with a cameo in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut web series, The Ba*ds of Bollywood, and his perennial gig hosting Bigg Boss 19. Looking ahead, the action icon is gearing up for Battle of Galwan, a gritty retelling of the 2020 India-China border clash in the Galwan Valley. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and co-starring Chitrangda Singh, the film spotlights the brutal hand-to-hand skirmish—fought with stones and clubs, eschewing bullets—that claimed lives on both sides.
Khan’s unflinching honesty at the festival underscores the hidden costs of stardom, reminding fans that behind the glamour lies a man who’s traded ordinary joys for extraordinary legacy.
