Just hours before the passing of veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, his son, actor Nikitin Dheer, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram that has since captured widespread attention online. The post, centered on acceptance and letting go, has struck an emotional chord with followers mourning the loss of the celebrated star.
A Message on Acceptance
In his post, Nikitin penned, “Whatever comes, let it come. Whatever stays, let it stay. Whatever goes, let it go. As a Shiva Bhakt, say ‘Shivarpanam’ and move on! He’ll take care.” He also reflected on how practicing detachment is a tough yet powerful act, writing that it’s “very hard to do.”
Remembering the Legendary Pankaj Dheer
Veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, famously known for his portrayal of Karna in B.R. Chopra’s 1988 television epic Mahabharat, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 68 after a prolonged cancer battle, as reported by Media. His last rites were conducted at Mumbai’s Pawan Hans crematorium in Santacruz at 4:30 p.m. Family sources confirmed he had been undergoing frequent medical treatment in recent months.

Beyond Mahabharat, Pankaj Dheer graced several popular shows including Chandrakanta, The Great Maratha, Kanoon, and Sasural Simar Ka, alongside notable film appearances in Saugandh (1991), Sadak (1991), and Tarzan: The Wonder Car (2004).
Industry Pays Tribute
The funeral witnessed several well-known faces from the film and television world paying their last respects. Stars Salman Khan and Sidharth Malhotra were seen among attendees, accompanied by Mahabharat co-stars Deep Dhillon (Jayadratha), Surendra Pal (Dronacharya), and Feroz Khan (Arjun).
Others including Shahbaz Khan, Jaya Bhattacharya, Mukesh Rishi, and Kushal Tandon joined in the farewell, alongside BN Tiwari, President of FWICE, and Sushant Singh, Honorary Secretary of CINTAA, who represented industry associations.
Pankaj Dheer is survived by his wife, Anita Dheer, son Nikitin Dheer, and daughter-in-law Kratika Sengar. His legacy as one of television’s finest performers continues to be remembered by fans and peers alike.
