Alan Ritchson, best known for playing the lead role in Amazon Prime Video’s Reacher, has found himself at the centre of a controversy after a video allegedly showing him in a physical altercation with a neighbour began circulating widely on social media.
The clip, shared by an X user, shows Ritchson in what appears to be a fight with a man in a Tennessee neighbourhood. Two children, reportedly the actor’s kids, are visible nearby on motorbikes. The incident is now under police investigation.
According to a TMZ report, the alleged victim identified as Ronnie Taylor claims Ritchson was riding a green Kawasaki motorcycle through a quiet Nashville suburb at excessive speed, revving his engine and disturbing residents. When Taylor says he confronted Ritchson and asked him to stop, the situation turned physical.
Taylor told authorities that Ritchson punched him in the face and kicked him. He further claims Ritchson fell off his bike, got back on, and then tried to run him over. Taylor has also alleged that Ritchson hit him “at least 4 times” while he was on the ground, leaving him with bruises and swelling.
Ritchson has not issued any public statement on the matter.
The actor made his on-screen debut playing Aquaman, Arthur Curry, on the CW superhero series Smallville. He later starred in the Spike TV sitcom Blue Mountain State (2010–2012), a role he returned to in the 2016 film sequel, and led the SyFy action series Blood Drive in 2017. Since 2022, he has played the title character in Reacher on Amazon Prime Video, the role that brought him his widest audience.
Beyond television, Ritchson has appeared in films including Fast X, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Ordinary Angels, Motor City, Lazer Team, Office Uprising, Above the Shadows, and Playdate, among others.
