Ranveer Allahbadia Shares That John Abraham And Sonu Nigam Called After Latent controversy

YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia recently opened up about the challenging aftermath of the 2025 controversy surrounding his appearance on the show India’s Got Latent, describing it as a disruptive “kaand” that halted his work for a period.

The revelation came during a candid conversation at his home with filmmaker Farah Khan, who was filming a segment for her YouTube cooking show alongside her cook, Dilip. As the discussion turned to handling setbacks, Farah advised Ranveer, “Never waste a good failure, always work from it. Put your head down and work.”

In response, Ranveer shared that actor John Abraham had offered strikingly similar counsel during the height of the backlash. “John Abraham sir called me and said the same thing,” he recalled. “He had called specially. He told me to handle myself and told me that this is normal in the media.” Ranveer added that singer Sonu Nigam, cricketer Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, and Yuzvendra Chahal also reached out to him during that difficult phase, providing much-needed support when opportunities to create content had temporarily dried up.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Ranveer explained that he turned to prayer, simply asking for his work to resume. “I just prayed to God to just give my work back. I just wanted the opportunity to work because we were not even able to shoot,” he said. He viewed the enforced break—following an intense six-year run of podcasting—as a chance to regroup, emphasizing his efforts to move forward by forgiving others and himself to some extent.

The controversy originated from an episode of comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent, where Ranveer appeared as a guest. During an interaction with a contestant, he posed a provocative hypothetical question: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” The remark quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage and leading to FIRs being filed against the show’s participants, including Ranveer.

Months later, he returned to his podcasting platform, resuming content creation with renewed focus.
