‘Ramayana’: Christopher Nolan and Hoyte Van Hoytema Reportedly Set To Oversee Final Edit Of Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi Starrer

Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated epic ‘Ramayana’ continues to generate massive buzz and the latest wave of speculation has taken a distinctly Hollywood turn. According to reports, acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan has been approached to supervise the film’s final edit and oversee its post-production phase.

Nolan and Van Hoytema Linked to ‘Ramayana’ Post-Production

Moneycontrol reported that social media speculation and industry circles are abuzz with rumors that producer Namit Malhotra has brought Christopher Nolan on board in a post-production capacity. However, no official statement or confirmation has been issued regarding this development.

As per the unconfirmed reports, Nolan alongside his long-time collaborator and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema is expected to work on the project for an intensive 72-day period beginning August 2026. The Hollywood duo is said to be handling the film’s technical and visual elements.

The reports further suggest that Oscar-winning editor Jennifer Lame will carry out the final edit under Nolan’s supervision, while van Hoytema will focus on technical mastering and color grading specifically for IMAX screens.

A viral social media post fueling the speculation read: “Ramayana Update: Post-production led by Christopher Nolan and Hoyte van Hoytema. Namit Malhotra and Charles Rowen have hired Hoyte van Hoytema for an intense 72-day period starting August 2026. Nolan already knows the story and will handle the film’s final cut, while Jennifer Lame will edit the film under his guidance.”

The post added that van Hoytema will oversee the film’s overall visual presentation, including colour grading and IMAX preparation, and that Nitesh Tiwari is looking forward to collaborating with Nolan through this process which is said to continue until October 22, ahead of the film’s November 8 release.

The Nitesh Tiwari directorial features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, and Yash as Lankanaresh Ravana. The film also stars Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey, Arun Govil, Indira Krishnan, and Rakul Preet Singh, among others, in key roles. Part one of ‘Ramayana’ is scheduled to release in theaters on November 8, 2026, with Part 2 slated for Diwali 2027.
